American Hero began the way the best things always do; with an immigrant family, a deep love for food, and a faith that everything would work out. The original American Hero was born in the heart of New York City, brought to life by a Coptic Egyptian family who carried their heritage, their recipes, and their values across the ocean and into a deli kitchen. What came out of that kitchen was something uniquely American. New York-style subs stacked high, hot pasta dishes simmered slow, and a warmth that made strangers feel like neighbors.

We brought that same spirit to Roxboro, North Carolina. As a Coptic Egyptian family guided by our Christian faith, we felt right at home in this community. A town with deep roots, strong values, and good people who appreciate honest food made with love. Every sub we press, every salad we build, and every dessert we make in-house is our way of saying thank you to a community that welcomed us with open arms!
